This is South Points newest initiative to offer opportunities to graduates interns and trainees.

The Process

MENTORING & SUPPORT

You will be at the heart of our training academy programme with supervisor/s who will provide support and guidance throughout the training programme.

DURATION

South Point Academy is a 12 month Programme, starts from 01 April 2019 – 31 March 2020

Finance Intern

Requirements

Finance degree or Diploma (NQF level 6)

Job Responsibilities

The candidate will be assisting the finance team with daily, monthly and quarterly reporting functions.

  • Cash and Bank
  • Petty Cash reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed assets register
  • Trade Creditors
  • Utilities
  • Month end reporting

STUDENT ADMIN

Admin Intern

Requirements

Matric, Higher Diploma / studying towards a related degree

Job Responsibilities

  • Collection of the debtors book
  • Dealing with all client queries

IT

IT intern

Requirements

Certificate or Diploma in Computer Science or relevant qualification

Job Responsibilities

  • Daily IT Health checks at multiple sites (onsite and remote).
  • Support and assist IT Systems Engineers and IT Manager.
  • IT support within SLA time frame.
  • Ensure all systems are healthy, including hardware and software.
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as may be reasonably expected of an IT Technician

MARKETING

Marketing Intern

Requirements

Marketing, communications or PR qualification or something equivalent Good knowledge of social media and some online presence in their own right

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage social media content and ensure that all content that is curated for CLIC is published on time to the correct social media channels.
  • Ensure that all content posted on social media are in line with the South Point brand
  • Community engagement to all queries that come through social media for CLIC
  • Growth of the South Point Clic community on social media
  • Generally build awareness on CLIC and be involved with all clic initiatives, shoots, events etc

FACILITIES

Trainee Plumber X2

Requirements

Matric

Job Responsibilities

  • Transport equipment/material/personnel to and from specific locations.
  • Installation of bath, basin, toilet, urinal and geyser;
  • Reporting any faulty equipment or hazards in the work place;
  • Need to cost the material required to execute a job

Training

Trainees will attend technical training with an external service provider (FET college), if the trainee fails the programme, they will need to refund the company the full training investment value

Trainee Building Manager

Requirements

Matric and computer knowledge

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations with regards to Health and Safety, and Fire Compliance;
  • Ensure that building maintenance is up to date and within prescribed turnaround times;
  • Daily inspections of building as per checklist and identification of problem areas;
  • Handle customer complaints and/or redirect appropriately according to management requirements;
  • Supply accurate reports as required by management;

Training
