Hola! In the last article, we looked at registration processes from TUT, NMU, and CPUT.

We hope that the information we highlighted to you in that article was helpful in assisting you with registration but we do have two more institutions to look at.

Let’s run through a quick overview of all registration processes at WITS and UJ;

  • Wits University

  • Check the registration dates for your faculty

  • Login to the Wits Student Self-Service Portal (https://self-service.wits.ac.za)

  • New applicants must first accept their firm offer (which is similar to an acceptance letter stating that you have been awarded a space at the institution to study for the qualification you applied for) before proceeding to register online, and before accepting the firm offer please do ensure that all documentation required is certified and submitted to the Student Enrolment Center in hard copy

  • Click on the Academic Information tab

  • Click on Online Registration

  • Click on Next to proceed with your Online Registration

  • Verify your personal details and click on the Register Online link

  • In Fixed Curriculum; select courses and slots, click validate, click enroll, accept terms and conditions then finally click submit

  • In Flexible Curriculum; Select choices, select courses, click add to the planner, click return, click validate, click enroll, accept terms and conditions then finally click submit

  • You are now registered!!

  • To send proof of registration to your email

  • Click on the Academic Information tab

  • Click on Proof of Registration, click view details, enter the year/term and the click generate

  • First-year students must complete the Biographical Questionnaire

  • To conclude the online registration process, you will have to apply for Clubs or Societies or parking on the student self-service portal

  • After you have registered, you will have to collect or renew your student and parking permit (if applicable to you) before the academic year begins.

  • University of Johannesburg

  • The University of Johannesburg has made things easier for first year students to understand their registration process by providing a step-by-step guide of the registration process. Please check out the UJ registration guide below;
