At South Point we like to believe that by providing our students with safe, clean, study-friendly, affordable and convenient accommodation, we are, in fact, providing our parents with peace of mind.

When we created South Point, in 2003, we did it because we had noticed that, other than university residences themselves, the only accommodation available to students were poorly maintained. We bought a number of buildings in the heart of university communities around South Africa and turned them into neat, comfortable, well functioning, safe havens for students at affordable prices, and then we built on that by starting South Point student communities within the buildings.

Now, our students lead happy, healthy lifestyles that ultimately encourage successful learning.

What we offer

As South Point’s objective is to create comfortable, convenient living for students we have taken their needs and your peace of mind very seriously:

• Our buildings have been completely revamped into single and 2-sharingunits, containing natural light and ventilation.
• All units are fully furnished.
• Each student block has its own laundry facilities, recreational and study rooms, plus wireless internet access that is free to all residents.
• Security is paramount, which is why we provide 24-hour, security and have created house rules that function to give you and your child peace-of-mind.
• No smoking or alcohol allowed in the buildings
• Visiting hours from 09:00 to 23:00. Only 2 visitors are allowed at a time.
• Common areas are cleaned daily ensuring tidy environments conducive to studying.
• South Point’s maintenance team is very handy and maintenance-related issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
• We always ensure that our accommodation is closely situated to public transport, meaning your child can get from A to B really easily.
• Although our buildings are not gender specific we still provide separate floors for our male and female occupants.
• We provide accommodation bursaries to existing South Point students who fit the criteria.
• To promote healthy learning we offer various student internship programmes to students needing to fulfill the practical portion of their academic programme.
